India have done exceptionally well on Day 5 of the ongoing Lord’s test between them and England and have sealed a historical victory at the Home of Cricket, Lord’s. Everyone had written the views after their below par performance on Day 4, but a miraculous partnership from tailenders Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami on the last day of the match changed every equation.

Special mention should be made to Jasprit Bumrah who impressed both with his batting and his bowling and secured the victory for India alongside Mohammad Siraj and Mohammad Shami who contributed equally.
Jasprit Bumrah played a fabulous knock of 34 off 64 and not only supported the knock of Mohammad Shami but also scored the few odd runs that would later add to the confidence of team India.
He was also brilliant with the ball in hand. The Indian pace king picked up 3 wickets against England in their second innings and was behind only Mohammad Siraj in the number of wickets taken in the second innings.
A particular wicket that Jasprit Bumrah took is being talked about the most and that is the dismissal of England tailender Ollie Robinson. Bumrah stunned the Englishman with an exceptionally well bowled delivery and completely beat him. The ball ended up hitting the pad and was a clear LBW. However, the Umpire gave it as a not out. India then reviewed the decision and the decision was reversed. Ollie Robinson had to depart.

When we consider the over performance of all the players, Jasprit Bumrah’s performance in the second Test undoubtedly falls under the top 3 performances in the series so far and will most likely remain on that list till the very end.
