Delhi Capitals are currently poised at the no.2 position in points table with 16 points from 10 matches. DC have won their last two matches after the resumption while KKR have won two out of three matches.

Delhi Capitals had a slow start to their innings. They lost Shikhar Dhawan in the 5th over of the game. The southpaw managed to score 24 off 20 deliveries which included 5 fours. DC managed to score 39 runs at the end of the powerplay. Former DC skipper Shreyas Iyer lost his wicket soon after Dhawan was dismissed. Steve Smith who replaced Prithvi Shaw for this match was scoring runs but at a slower pace. Eoin Morgan handed the ball to Lockie Ferguson in the 13th over replacing mystery spinner Sunil Narine. Steve Smith premeditated the scoop shot in the 1st ball of the over. He walked across the stumps, bends down to get underneath the ball. But it was a dipping full toss which takes an inside edge onto the inner thigh and lies flat on the ground. Smith lies down on the ground for a while as the ball hit straight to his thigh.

In the very next delivery, Ferguson attacks the stumps and bowls Smith out. Ferguson bowls a 143kmp ball which takes the inside edge of the bat and knocks the stumps off.

KKR have dismissed a set batsman who was batting right from the start. It’s a smart move from Lockie Ferguson. He bowls a slower ball first and then bowls a much quicker delivery which deceives the batsmen. Smith managed to score 39 off 34 deliveries which included four 4s.
