The Lucknow Super Giants have been dominant against the Delhi Capitals in their match. The visitors require 147 runs from 14 overs with eight wickets remaining, after LSG batted first and scored 193/6, thanks in part to Kyle Mayer’s half-century.
During the Capitals’ chase, their openers David Warner and Prithvi Shaw made a solid start, putting on 41 runs for the first wicket. However, their partnership was broken by a remarkable delivery from Mark Wood in the fifth over.
With Prithvi facing the third ball, Wood bowled a 145+ delivery in the tight off-stump channel. Despite trying to hit it straight, the ball seamed in and hit the off stump, resulting in Shaw’s dismissal.
Mitchell Marsh came in to face the next ball, and Wood continued his excellent bowling display. He delivered a ball outside off which jagged back into the right-hander and skidded, causing the stumps to be rattled and demonstrating his ability to dismiss batters with exceptional speed.
Lucknow Super Giants have beaten Delhi Capitals by a margin of 50 runs! Mark Wood’s excellent bowling performance was the highlight of the match. He pitched the ball outside off and Mukesh Kumar managed to push it into the off-side, but it was only a matter of time as the game had already been decided long ago. The players congratulated each other with handshakes and hugs, celebrating the victory.
