Nicholas Pooran of the West Indies has showcased remarkable form throughout the 5 T20I series against India. His impressive performance continued during the 5th T20I held in Florida, where he used his exceptional skills to dominate the Indian bowlers at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground on Sunday.
In the earlier T20Is, Pooran managed scores of 41 (34), 67 (40), and 20 (12) on challenging West Indies pitches. However, in the crucial 5th T20I that determined the series outcome, Pooran displayed an aggressive batting display, leading the West Indies as they pursued a target of 166 runs.
In the second over of the chase, the left-handed batsman strode to the crease before Shai Hope at number 3, launching an immediate assault on the Indian bowlers.
Having previously been dismissed by the Indian skipper in earlier T20Is, Hardik Pandya had issued a challenge to Nicholas Pooran. However, it turned out that Pooran had the final triumph, as he unleashed his power against the seamer and other Indian bowlers, dominating the field in Florida.
Merely on the fourth ball he faced, Pooran hammered Arshdeep Singh over deep mid-wicket. Subsequently, it was Hardik Pandya’s turn to face the heat from the aggressive left-handed batsman on strike.
Nicholas Pooran smashed consecutive sixes on the leg-side off Hardik Pandya, asserting his dominance over the Indian skipper.
