WATCH: Purple cap holder Harshal Patel takes three in an over

Royal Challengers Bangalore fast bowler Harshal Patel who is currently the purple cap holder has shown yet again a fabulous performance in the Indian Premier League. Harshal Patel picked up a hattrick again Mumbai Indians last week by picking up back-to-back wickets of Hardik, Pollard and Milne. Harshal Patel has picked up 26 wickets so far in 11 matches. He has also picked up a five-wicket haul in the season.

During the 43rd match of the season between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals, Harshal Patel proved once again how lethal he can be with the ball. RR were put on to bat by RCB skipper Virat Kohli. Evin Lewis and Yashasvi Jaiswal handed Rajasthan a dream start to their innings. The openers started hitting the bowlers right from the start. The two managed to score 56 runs in the powerplay overs. Just before Lewis could reach to this fifty, Dan Christian removed Jaiswal. The two were engaged in a 77 run opening partnership.

However, wickets started falling soon after the opening partnership was broken. Evin Lewis was dismissed after scoring 58 off 37 deliveries which included 5 fours and 3 sixes.

Skipper Virat Kohli handed the ball to Harshal Patel in the final over of the game. Harshal was wicketless before bowling the final over. However, he did not disappoint his captain. He picked up the wicket of Riyan Parag in the 2nd ball of the delivery. Parag slices the slow off cutter ball towards the extra cover fielder and Kohli doesn’t misses those. Harshal doesn’t stop there. He goes on to dismiss Chris Morris in the very next delivery. Patel bowled a full-length delivery close to the yorker length, Morris lofts it towards the extra cover as Devdutt Padikkal takes a wonderful catch.

Harshal Patel once again was on a hattrick but this time he wasn’t lucky enough.

However, Harshal took his third wicket in the final ball of the over. He removes Chetan Sakariya who lofts it towards long on and ABD takes the catch comfortably. Sakariya did not pick the slower ball.
