WATCH: Ravi Bishnoi removes the CSK skipper; PBKS all over CSK

Chennai Super Kings batting collapsed once again during the 53rd match of IPL. CSK locked horns with PBKS at The Dubai International Stadium.

Upon winning the toss, PBKS skipper KL Rahul chose to field first. Punjab Kings came up with one change in their playing XI. They replaced Chris Jordan with Nicholas Pooran. On the other hand, CSK went unchanged.

Punjab Kings are out of the playoffs race this season with 5 wins out of 13 matches so far. Whereas, CSK have booked their playoff berth and are currently poised at the 2nd position in the table with 9 wins from 13 matches so far. MS Dhoni will be looking to win the final game and keep the momentum going before the playoffs.

Batting first, Ruturaj Gaikwad fell early in the innings to Arshdeep Singh after scoring 12 off 14 deliveries. Gaikwad top edged a delivery while attempting a pull shot. Arshdeep Singh gave another breakthrough to Punjab Kings by dismissing Moeen Ali. Moeen Ali failed to score a run after facing six deliveries. Chennai Super Kings finished the powerplay at 30/2 as Arshdeep Singh gave two vital breakthroughs for his side.

Chris Jordan struck in his first over of spell by removing Robin Uthappa who managed to score two runs. Ambati Rayudu did not spend much time in the crease as he fell off to Chris Jordan. Ambati Rayudu timed a ball brilliantly but straight down to the backward point.

A lot was expected when MS Dhoni walked in to bat at No.6. Dhoni got off to a fiery start by scoring a boundary in Bishnoi’s 2nd over. Dhoni scored a four in the first ball of Bishnoi’s third over and it looked like vintage Dhoni is back.

But Bishnoi had the last laugh in the final ball of his third over. Bishnoi bowled MS Dhoni by bowling a googly. The ball took a inside edge off the bat as Dhoni came up with a half-hearted shot. Dhoni managed to score 12 off 15 deliveries which included two fours at a strike rate of 80.
