Mumbai Indians looked well on course for a comfortable win after Chennai Super Kings posted a target of 177 at the Wankhede on Sunday.
Much of that confidence stemmed from a vintage display by Rohit Sharma, who lit up the powerplay with one of his trademark attacking starts, notching up his first half-century of the season.
While his innings was peppered with boundaries and towering sixes, the standout moment came as early as the second over.
Jamie Overton dropped it just a fraction short, and that was all Rohit needed—rocking back and launching it effortlessly over square leg, a reminder of the class that’s made him a mainstay in MI’s top order for years.
