WATCH : Rohit channels the ‘force’ to keep Santner from spilling catch

Chennai Super Kings rode on Shivam Dube’s composed half-century to post XXX against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede — their highest first-innings total of the season. The early momentum, however, came courtesy of 17-year-old debutant Ayush Mhatre, who blazed his way to a stunning 32 off just 14 balls.

The youngster looked destined for a dream fifty before Deepak Chahar outfoxed him with a well-disguised slower ball, and Mitchell Santner completed the dismissal with a catch at long-on.

But there was a twist — one involving Rohit Sharma, who wasn’t even on the field. Sitting in the dugout, waiting to come in as an Impact Player, Rohit found himself inadvertently part of the action.

As Santner circled under the ball near the boundary, he momentarily lost balance after completing the catch and teetered dangerously close to the rope.

At that precise moment, Rohit, with arms stretched out as if offering a stabilizing force from afar, seemed to channel some unseen energy. Santner held his ground — and the ball — thanks, perhaps, to a little cosmic assist from the former MI skipper.
