Suryakumar Yadav is a rare talent in cricket, possessing the exceptional ability to hit a six anywhere on the ground with his wide range of unorthodox shots. At just 32 years old, he has already made a name for himself in the shortest format of the game and has gained a significant fanbase in gully cricket as well.

A recent video shared by his IPL team, Mumbai Indians, showed him demonstrating his iconic scoop shot to kids on the streets of Mumbai. As a local of the city, Suryakumar Yadav is familiar with gully cricket and was seen batting in front of plastic wickets, impressively executing the scoop shot through his leg side.

The gathered crowd cheered him on as the ball cleared the boundary line. Currently playing in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, Suryakumar Yadav made his red-ball debut in the Nagpur Test but did not perform well and lost his spot in the starting eleven for subsequent games.

Though he is not expected to play in the final Test, he is likely to return for the three-match ODI series against Australia. Despite his lackluster performance in the longest format, Suryakumar Yadav’s form in limited-overs cricket is outstanding.

He is ranked as the top T20I batter by the ICC, having scored 1675 runs in the format, and became the first Indian and second in the world to reach 1000 T20I runs in a calendar year. He has also played in 20 ODIs and has scored 433 runs.
