The 20th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai has Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) facing each other.
During the second innings, Trent Boult took the wicket of LSG captain KL Rahul on the very first ball with an impressive in-swinging delivery from around the wicket. In the game, KL Rahul won the toss and opted to field first, inviting RR to bat.
Although the Royals had a decent start, they soon found themselves in trouble at 67/4. However, Shimron Hetnyer and R Ashwin formed an outstanding partnership of 68 runs, with the latter retiring out in the 19th over, leading the rebuilding of the team.
Eventually, RR managed to reach a respectable total of 165/6 thanks to Hetmyer’s late blitz, as he smashed 59 off 36 balls. In the second innings, Trent Boult delivered a full ball on the first delivery, which swung sharply from outside off, as he bowled from round the wicket.
KL Rahul struggled to connect with the ball as it swung late, resulting in a gap between his bat and pad. Boult’s angle worked against Rahul, causing the ball to slip through and dislodge the stumps as Rahul attempted to play it through the leg side. A few balls later, Boult trapped Krishnappa Gowtham, causing him to be dismissed for a duck.
