WATCH: Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma get furious at Rishabh Pant over bad light issue

Team India somehow survived the English pacers on Day 4, thanks to the brilliant partnership of Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara who scored a majority of the runs for the visitors and gave their innings a momentum. After their dismissal, Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant came in to take control of the innings, but a certain act by the youngster angered the Indian captain Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma who were observing the match from the stands.

So what had happened that infuriated the two senior players of team India? Actually at the end of the day, the umpire kept on continuing the match despite there not being ample sunlight. The overfilled clouds at Lord’s dimmed the lights by a big margin and it was seemingly favouring the English contingent.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were thus seen angrily waving their hands at Rishabh Pant (Who was on-strike at that time), out of frustration and amazement that the Umpire was still continuing the match. They were seemingly very furious at Rishabh Pant for not talking to the umpire to call the day off.

The blues were visibly struggling on Day 4 and were unable to connect bat to ball, especially after the dismissals of the two set batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane. The match is gradually slipping out of Team India’s hands, courtesy of their dull performance in the second innings and they have no other option but to push for a draw. If the English batsmen do the unthinkable, India might even lose the match and that would be disappointing indeed after the sensational start that they got to the match.
