ENG vs IND 4th test Day 5 LIVE: The English openers were looking rock solid while batting on the final day of the fourth test at Kennington, Oval. The Indian bowlers were right on the money from the start of the day’s play. Haseeb Hamid and Rory Burns helped England reach to a total of 100 in the first half an hour. However, Shardul Thakur provided the breakthrough for India by dismissing Rory Burns for 50. Rory Burns was dismissed just after reaching to his fifty.

Dawid Malan survived for a close LBW off Ravindra Jadeja’s delivery in the 52nd over of the game. Jadeja bowled a loopy ball outside off stump, Malan padded it away. India took the review but Malan got saved by umpire’s call. India retained their review.

In the 54th over of the game, Haseeb Hameed tapped the ball towards the cover point off Ravindra Jadeja’s delivery. Hameed went for a quick single but Malan hesitated to get it. Malan saw Hameed charging for a run so he tries to reach the other end. The substitute fielder Mayank Agarwal collects the ball and throws it towards the keeper. Rishabh Pant immediately takes the bails off. Dawid Malan feel short of the pitch despite his full stretch drive. Dawid Malan got dismissed after facing 33 deliveries.

Haseeb Hamid is looking solid in the pitch batting at 62* along with captain Joe Root. England have scored 131/2 before lunch on Day 5. England require 237 runs to win while India need 8 more wickets to seal the victory.
