During the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL), numerous Indian cricket players have been performing exceptionally well with the bat, including Harleen Deol. Representing Gujarat Giants, the 24-year-old all-rounder demonstrated her confidence on Thursday while playing against Delhi Capitals at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium.

Although she helped her team recover from a score of 4/2 alongside Laura Wolvaardt, Deol unfortunately lost her wicket while attempting to accelerate, having scored 31 runs off 33 balls.

In the 10th over of the innings, Harleen Deol attempted to cut Jess Jonassen’s short delivery that had drifted in, after making some room. Unfortunately, Deol only managed to nick the ball, and the wicketkeeper, Taniya Bhatia, made an excellent catch with her large gloves.

Bhatia was confident that Deol was out and appealed, but the on-field umpire was not convinced. After discussing the matter with captain Meg Lanning, Bhatia convinced her to take the review.

The replay on the large screen confirmed that Taniya Bhatia’s appeal was correct, and the umpire had to change the decision. Harleen Deol was taken aback to discover that she had nicked the ball, and she expressed her frustration with a gesture that implied, “How did that happen?”

As she walked back, Deol continued to shake her head, which garnered significant attention on social media. Typically, players are aware when they nick the ball, making Deol’s behavior all the more notable.
