WATCH: Ishan Porel picks up his maiden IPL wicket after KL Rahul pulls off a stunning catch

The Punjab Kings have locked horns with Rajasthan Royals in the 32nd match of the 2021 edition of IPL at The Dubai International Stadium in UAE. Fighting for the fourth spot has been a regular thing for both the sides halfway through the IPL. The Kings are currently standing in the 7th position in the table with 6 points in 8 matches. The Royals are currently standing 6th in the table having played a match less than the Royals. Earlier this year Punjab Kings were found victorious when they faced the Royals. Both the teams will like to kickoff the 2nd half of the season with a victory.

The Royals were put to bat after PBKS skipper KL Rahul won the toss. RR went off to a decent start and lost only a wicket in the powerplay and scored 57 runs. Evin Lewis was dismissed in the final over of the powerplay by Arshdeep Singh. Lewis scored 36 off 21 runs which included 7 fours and a single six. Yashasvi Jaiswal is showing a brilliant display with the bat. So far, he has scored 40 runs off 26 balls at a strike rate of 153. Jaiswal is still in the pitch and hitting some big sixes.

However, RR skipper Sanju Samson did not spend much time on the pitch and was soon dismissed by debutant Ishan Porel. Porel bowled a short wide delivery but Samson throwed his bat at it too casually without any foot movement. Samson nicked the ball and Rahul took a one-handed catch. Rahul took his right out and the ball got stick to his gloves. Rahul takes a one-handed stunner as the ball was travelling very fast. Rahul times his jump perfectly and get holds of the ball. Samson departed after scoring 4 runs off 5 deliveries.

Ishan Porel gets his maiden wicket in IPL in his debut match. Before picking up the wicket he conceded 25 runs. Porel bowled four overs in which he gave away 39 runs at an economy rate of 9.75.

Sanju Samson will be disappointed of himself as it wasn’t a wicket taking delivery.
