WATCH: Jasprit Bumrah dismisses Jonny Bairstow moments after sending Ollie Pope off

Jasprit Bumrah has picked up two big wickets in quick successions and with this, India are now inches away from registering a historic win at the Oval and thus cement a solid lead of 2-1 in the ongoing test series between India and England.

England were going very clearly going for a draw and their batsmen were defending well but ever since the departure of set batsman Haseeb Hameed courtesy of Ravindra Jadeja’s insane spin, the England batting order looked shaky and the conditions worsened for them when Jasprit Bumrah picked up the wicket of Ollie Pope, England’s highest scorer in the first innings. Moments later he picked up the wicket of Jonny Bairstow and just like that the depth of England’s batting order was demolished by the Indian pacers.

Team India are now just 4 wickets away from winning the match. The conditions can however change if England captain Joe Root miraculously pulls off a once in a blue moon innings but the chances of that happening are meagre as he must also be supported by the other batsmen. But as it now stands, apart from Joe Root, all the other main batsmen of England have already been sent off.

These two wickets of Jasprit Bumrah were the 100th and 101st test wickets of Jasprit Bumrah. With this, he became the fastest Indian bowler to pick 100 test wickets. Earlier the record was held by the legendary former Indian captain Kapil Dev who had picked up 100 test wickets in 25 matches. Jasprit Bumrah has done it in 24 matches. If India manage to finish it off well and win the match, a majority of the credit should go the young pacer as he sparked the game up completely.
