Rahul Tewatia takes the much-needed wicket of Venkatesh Iyer during the 54th match of IPL between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals.
Upon winning the toss, RR skipper Sanju Samson chose to field first at Sharjah. KKR will try to win the match to keep their playoffs hopes alive. Eoin Morgan replaced Tim Southee with fit Lockie Ferguson. Whereas RR who are out of the playoffs race made four changes to their side.
Batting first, Shubham Gill and Venkatesh Iyer got off to a flying start. The two were dealing in fours and sixes. They managed to score 34 at the end of the powerplay without a loss of a wicket. KKR scored 69 runs in the first 10 overs without losing their openers.

Sanju Samson brought Rahul Tewatia in the 11th over hoping for a breakthrough. Shubhan Gill started off the over with a six over long on. But Rahul Tewatia had the last laugh. In the penultimate ball of the over, he removed dangerous looking Venkatesh Iyer. Iyer went for an innovative shot by reversing and looking for a slog sweep over the square leg. Tewatia knocks off his stumps as the ball goes through his legs.
Tewatia ended up taking the wicket for which he was brought back into the attack.
Despite losing the wicket of Venkatesh Iyer, Shubham Gill goes on to score his fifty in just 40 deliveries. But soon after reaching his fifty, Chris Morris removes him after scoring 56 off 44 deliveries. His innings comprised of 4 fours and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 127.27.
