WATCH : Unfortunate injury of Ishan Kishan after Chris Jordan knocks him over with elbow

After witnessing Shubman Gill’s scintillating performance in Ahmedabad, devoted Mumbai Indians fans eagerly hoped for Ishan Kishan to deliver a similar spectacle, as they faced a daunting target of 234 runs. However, fate had other plans for Kishan, preventing him from even stepping onto the field alongside Rohit Sharma due to an unfortunate incident that occurred after the last ball of the 18th over in the Titans’ innings.

Although Chris Jordan had been largely overshadowed by Gill’s brilliance, he redeemed himself with an outstanding over towards the end of the innings, conceding a mere seven runs. Kishan, appreciating Jordan’s exceptional bowling in the death overs, intended to give him a reassuring pat on the back while transitioning to the other end for the next over.

Unfortunately, Jordan failed to notice Kishan approaching, and accidentally struck his teammate’s face near the eye area while adjusting his cap. Realizing the pain he had inadvertently caused Kishan, Jordan swiftly called for the physiotherapist, who promptly attended to the wicketkeeper and escorted him off the field.

As a result of the injury, Mumbai Indians made the decision to introduce Vishnu Vinod as a concussion substitute, entrusting him with the responsibility of donning the gloves for the remaining two overs.

Netizens quickly reacted to this unfortunate incident, expressing their sympathy and acknowledging the unfortunate nature of the injury.
